Elementalist Dagger/Dagger Guide
This guide is based on an “Dagger/Dagger” Elementalist build. I will explain everything you should know for playing a “Dagger/Dagger” Elementalist. There are various builds on the internet. My Build is based on Solo/Roaming in certain areas of the game.
This build can be used for Solo/Group roaming in WvW. But also in PvE and sPvP this build focuses on survivability and medium damage output.
The most important thing to know is that an Elementalist uses all his skills. In order to get the max out of this build you will use all your attunements.
The Fire Attunement is mainly used for DPS output and creating combo fields for various reason.
This is more of an supportive attunement rather than a DPS one. You will slow/heal enemies/foes with this attunement.
This attunement focuses on DPS/CC(Crowed Control). You will use the Air Attunement for speed boost en CC. You can stun and knockdown foes with your spells.
The Earth Attunement is based on DPS/Conditions. You will apply bleeding with 3 out of the 5 spells you have. Also you can Immobilize foes and knock them down in this attunement.
The slot skills can be different then I have but this is mainly for survivability and spell combo’s.
In my opinion this is the best healing spell there is. The spell itself got a 15 second cooldown and heals for 5,712 but also curses a condition every thick!
This skill is great for survivability. It makes you invulnerable and breaks stuns, there for this spell is a must for WvW or sPvP
Armor of Earth is one of the mostly used skills for an Elementalist. This spells gives you -33% Incoming Damage, and also Stability and Break stuns!
Lightning Flash is the spell every D/D Elementalist uses. It breaks stuns but can also be used when casting “Churning Earth” to move yourself to a different location well still casting the spell.
For the Elite skill you can also use “Conjure Fiery Greatsword” this is mainly good when you are going with a Zerg or in certain PvE areas.
The Traits are divided and explained.
We do not put any points in the Fire Trait
Spending a total of 10 points in the Air Trait is giving you a 10% run speed boost when attuned to Air.
When using "Shocking Aura" or "Frost Aura" you will gain swiftness and vigor.
We do not put any points in the Earth Trait
Spending a total of 30 points in the Water Trait is giving you more survivability and support. When attuning to the Water Attunement you gain regeneration which also curses condition(s).
The number 6,7 and 8 skills we use are "Cantrips" by using one of the Water Traits you will recharge these 20% faster which means more survivability.
Also each boon on the elementalist is giving a 2% extra damage boost per boon.
Spending a total of 30 points in the Arcana Trait is giving you extra's on all attunements.
When switching from attunement you are gaining a buff depending on which attument you switch to, for example Fire Attunement; Gives Might.
If you land a critical hit on a foe you will have a chance to gain vigor and apply a random condition to your foe.
The last points in Arcana give you a attunement-based spell when dodging.
What kind of armor or accessory’s do I have to use?
For armor and weapons it is pretty simple. Your main stats will be
Power
Vitality
Toughness
If after playing with these kind of stats you think you master the Elementalist and feel like changing armor around I would suggest the following
Power
Vitality
Crit
You might also be wondering what kind of Sigils and Runes i use?
For my weapons i use the following Sigils (Main Hand/ Off-Hand)
This sigil i use in my Main Hand. Nothing really special just 5% extra Damage
This sigil i use in my Off-Hand. When switching weapons you gain 3 stacks of might for 20 Seconds. But how do i switch weapons? I'm an Elementalist?
When switching attunements the game sees it as weapon swap. In that case you can stack allot of might in a short time.
Major rune? Why? In order to get the max out of your boons we want anything that can increase our boon durations thats why 10% Extra Boon Duration..
This is also for Boon Duration like all the other runes we use. This rune gives 15% Boon Duration.
Nothing else then Boon Duration again. This also gives 15% Boon Duration.
For accessory you start out with using Sapphire Jewels. If you already got Ascended gear you better go for the “All-Stat” accessory’s
Here i will explain/show some of the Combo Spells (Not Official Combo Fields) and Combo Fields
This can be used with any "Blast Finisher" from any profession.
For WvW people when people say "Stack Might" you should lay down a "Ring of Fire"
When casting Churring Earth you can use Lightning Flash to teleport to another location while still casting Churring Earth

nice guide, we should try to do the 3x might stack more often.
